EcoSpark Nature Academy: The Air We Breathe
April 28, 2017
$50Event Navigation
The Air We Breathe will get you outside and observing natural surroundings in a new way. You’ll learn about urban air quality issues and investigate the impact that air quality has on human health.
Why learn about air quality? Do you know what is in the air we breathe, or how we monitor air quality in the City? Understanding air quality can be simple, and there are many ways students can create their own inquiry projects and get outside to test to gather information.
What will I learn? The Air We Breathe will teach you to identify types of lichens, trees and common pests as well as about other air quality tests! Learn how to collect data and information about air quality, lichens and neighbourhood trees to investigate what the environment is telling you about the air we breathe! You will leave this workshop ready to guide your students in assessing the air quality and monitoring the trees in and around your own schoolyard projects you can continue for years to come!
Please note that release time is still available for TDSB teachers on a first-come-first-service basis for the weekday workshops. Full details on the Nature Academy website here.
