Event Navigation
The Eastern Comma Writer-in-Residence program is very excited to announce Marlene Creates and Don McKay as our writers in residence for 2016! Each September and October, Eastern Comma hosts accomplished Canadian literary writers within North House, a high-tech, solar-powered, advanced-design living lab situated in the natural environment of rare Charitable Research Reserve. Resident writers work on scholarly or literary writing while interacting regularly with the community of people who are present at rare including gardeners, educators, students, artists, botanists, ecologists, geologists, archeologists and historians.
Walking and Memory Mapping
length: 3 hours, with a walk and a session in a studio
Join Marlene Creates on a walk on the trails at the rare Charitable Research Reserve, paying attention to the place through all the senses. On their return, each person will draw a memory map of the walk with as much detail as can be remembered. Marlene will facilitate a discussion while looking at the resulting maps and consider – Can drawing memory maps help us become better observers of our own experience?
Event is open to all ages but best for ages 8+
