November 5, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Event Navigation
Take action to improve the health of the local watershed! Join Evergreen for citizen-science training and other activities taking place every month at Tynehead Park in Surrey. By helping us monitor water quality, as well as by removing invasive species and replacing them with native plants, you can help ensure the park’s Serpentine River waterway remains a vital and functioning part of the urban ecosystem.
Who is a Citizen Scientist? That’s you! Become part of a growing network of active community members, and:
• Learn about the local ecology of your watershed
• Help manage invasive species in the local ecosystem
• Plant native plants
• Monitor water quality in the Serpentine River
Volunteers should bring weather-appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes and a water bottle or coffee mug. Evergreen will provide training, tools, gloves and snacks.
Meeting Place: Picnic tables at Serpentine Hollow
Commitment: 3 hours per event
